From the list of agents and some tweets it looks like there are 9 candidates Jeanie Barton [1] Paul Bowers (Green) Samantha Dixon (Lab) Cain Griffiths (UKIP) Rob Herd (Lib Dem) Richard Hewison (Rejoin EU) Howling Laud Hope (OMRLP) [2] Chris Quartermaine (Freedom Alliance) Liz Wardlaw (Con) [1] Maybe this candidate from Wrexham's local elections this year[2] so not the GB News journalist then What are Reform UK doing? Nothing much it seems. Jeanie Barton is our candidate.

Jeanie Barton is our candidate. I thought she was an independent from the above post. I got that from the list of agents, which doesn't specify parties, and a quick look didn't find a party affiliation. But the SOPN has now been published and confirms that she is the Reform UK candidate. Jeanie Barton (Reform UK) Paul Bowers (Green) Samantha Dixon (Lab) Cain Griffiths (UKIP) Rob Herd (Lib Dem) Richard Hewison (Rejoin EU) Howling Laud Hope (OMRLP) Chris Quartermaine (Freedom Alliance) Liz Wardlaw (Con)

My guess is yes: "address in Clwyd South" on the SOPN, and the Wrexham ward (Minera) is in that constituency. But the Jeanie Barton who stood in Minera in May was an Independent; perhaps london(ex)tory can confirm whether they are indeed the same person?

Yes it’s the same lady, and I believe she stood for ukip for the welsh assembly at some point in the past.

I've searched for the Freedom Alliance candidate and I've found this: The New Age contingent particularly in the US included a lot of anti-lockdown and anti- vaxx people

Even if I believed he could genuinely cleanse negative energy from my house, I'd be sceptical he could do it over Zoom!

I detest people like him. My mum believed in all this sort of bullshit - dowsing, black leylines, underground streams creating negative energy, etc. etc. She must have spent tens of thousands of pounds over the years trying to find the cause of her ill health, which finally disappeared when she got dementia and she lived happily until she was 93. She was an anti-vaxxer too.

The New Age contingent particularly in the US included a lot of anti-lockdown and anti- vaxx people Being anti-vax and anti-lockdown are two completely different things in my opinion. Totally agree. I am anti lockdown and pro vaxx. However, the new age contingent tended to be both - the vaxx issue based on a broader opposition to vaccination.

Once when I was a (much younger) agent a voter scrawled bastards on the ballot paper but for some reason the Tory agent wasn’t happy when I suggested it was a vote for his candidates. I now realise this was petty and immature and would never do it again… You now realise that the vote is more important than the cheap laugh, and hence would argue that actually your candidates were born out of wedlock?

Well only if the ward was very tight. And no returning officer is going to include "bastards" as a Tory vote even if it's funny.

At the count at the 1983 Brighton Borough Council elections, the returning officer was examining the questionable votes for my then ward, St Peters. One voter had written foul abuse against the names of the SDP & Conservative candidates, but had put crosses against the 3 Labour ones. The Returning Officer, Mr Datson IIRC, looked, said "well, the intention is clear enough" and allowed the vote for the 3 Labour candidates, who were comfortably elected. It was quite hard for us to keep straight faces.

The paper would have been ruled invalid in Germany because of potentially identifying handwriting, but I believe that is not the law in the UK. Then again as a precinct (and thus also countung team) chair I myself have allowed a ballot paper where the voter had struck through every party's name except one fringe outfit he probably just overlooked, for that fringe outfit...
