LAB: 31.8% (+1.1)
IND: 18.0% (+18.0)
GRN: 6.2% (-4.0)
LDEM: 3.5% (-6.3)
Votes cast: 661
Moss Bank (St Helens) council by-election result:
LAB: 50.3% (-1.7)
LDEM: 43.8% (+27.1)
CON: 6.0% (-11.3)
Votes cast: 1,305

While we’re waiting for results, I’ll bite. Todays preview says that Portchester East on Fareham is one of only two three-member wards in the country electing in halves, so alternating single-member and two-member elections. A few nerd points for the first person to let us know where the other one is. Widewater in Adur Easy one for locals like you and me, Sam! |

Incumbent was forced to resign after moving to Liverpool and it seems the candidate wasn't local, from local coverage (he lived in Portchester until he was 21 and so on, implying he doesn't anymore). |

Hoorah - about time after several close misses over the past few weeks. and not the easiest of ones- very rural, crowded field. I had a very pleasant afternoon driving round Tillingbourne ward yesterday. (If anyone doesn't know it, try the google images for Shere, for example) Thought the LD would win, candidate lives in the centre of the ward and well known in Shere community groups. But not sure about how strong the Greenbelt challenge would be, they did well in the county ward last year and candidate's farm on the edge of the ward ... I think it's important that the Green candidate was not local but from Guildford town. |

According to Andrew’s Previews he contested Fareham North Ward in May, but the SOPN just gives “address in Fareham”. |
