Trumpington of course began the political career of one of the most popular nonagenerian peers ever to appear on Have I Got News For You.
The world is still wondering why the late Baroness had to sign a form to confirm she wasn't pregnant.

In Cambridge city council elections, Trumpington ward returned Conservative councillors continuously from 1945 to 1993 and then Liberal Democrats continuously since 1994, with just three exceptions: Labour won one of the two seats available in 1945, and the ward voted Conservative in 2012 and Labour (by four votes) in 2018. The Conservatives also won Trumpington in 1998

The Spanish Inquisition was somewhat more serious than a duplicated correction.

Not really surprised that Wyre was a win for the anti quarry/ NIMBY candidate. Nor was I, but these are so difficult to predict- fairly sure there would be a lot of sentiment on her side, but so tricky to know whether there was enough organisation there to turn sentiment into votes. Obviously there was.

Given the circumstances of the election, that seems a surprisingly convincing hold in Trumpington

indeed, I wonder if Cambridge Council has made itself particularly unpopular either in that ward or generally. Perhaps East Anglian Lefty has some knowledge?
