The odd one in the member survey that brought me up short was the question on whether they had a "respectable personal life". Apart from the difficulty of defining that is (aside from the glaringly obvious) the poll is startling with Truss winning that measure overwhelmingly (68 to 22). Is there something about Sunak of which we are unaware? We know of Truss's marital infidelity history but that is seemingly set aside against whatever Sunak has done! |

I would guess it’s related to his wife’s non dom tax status and an impression - whether rightly or wrongly - that, as a couple, they’re tax dodging. I’m not sure that Truss’ affair with Mark Field is as well known. |
