Was hearing lots of bullish noises from our team in Manchester, but didn’t assume it would amount to much. I spent an evening delivering Focus in Beswick in October 1977. I'm sure that was what made the difference.

They decided to count Boxmoor first, and Berkhamsted West when Boxmoor was finished. Result expected soon.

Still no actual numbers from Cotswold? Twitter says: "It was a close run thing, with a big swing to the Lib Dems." "full results will be posted tomorrow" tomorrow...

The Cotswold numbers. Tom Stowe. Conservative 1180 Danny Loveridge. Liberal Democrat 920 I thought the Lib Dems might get a bit closer than that, although this ward will have a large number of residents who will never vote anything else except Conservative.

Awaiting Tamworth, GWBWI:
LDm +175 Grn -55 Con -57 Lab -97
For Lab that's the worst figures since 16th Sept; largely driven by Manchester of course, .
