Aware that this is a drum I've banged before, only I truly believe it, so I'll just give it one more whack. There is something questionable, distasteful, even cruel, to have a thread which could promote innuendo about a person's health. Yes, an MP might be suffering from long Covid or cancer or depression or god knows what else; it is not acceptable (in my opinion!) to speculate about the day they might drop dead. It's why I never join in those "death list" games people play at the start of the year, drawing up the 5 or 10 people most likely to die and getting points for every successful guess. If we are to have this thread, could we just step back from metaphorically tiptoeing through the hospital wards whispering "Not long for him I suspect?" and other such morbid chin-stroking? The competition is "pick a constituency". No speculation either of a person's impending demise or of the outcome of criminal proceedings is required. Just a name. I'm not sure I really buy that, given the legal routes for a vacancy to occur and the most common causes of those incidents

What on earth would be the point of that? Random selection. Pointless drivel. This is like the infamous Death List concept thread. It is predicated on illness, impending death and personal tragedy. It is thoroughly nasty. And I state that as one who has had to fight a corner twice over discussing prospects as soon as there is a death. When they are dead it is OK by me, straight away. But speculation on the demise of the living has a whiff of the tontine and a whiff of evil about it. Play, don't play. Its all the same to me. Of course I don't 'play' with the hopes, fears, ill health and old age of MPs for light amusement: No half way decent person would stoop to it.
