There seems to be a consensus amongst the predictors that in the straight fights, Dover will be a Tory hold but Rutland a Lib Dem gain. I got appeals for help from Rutland (bit far off to actually respond) which does suggest they are fighting an active campaign there

Tory is also very active. Chair of more organisations than I could have imagined existing in Dover
However he has put a video of Patel making empty promises to Afghan refugees on his feed.

As erudite and informative as ever - BUT - you just might cover the events in Sandwich in 1216 in History GCSE. If you are lucky enough to have one of the best history teachers in the world, you will do the OCR History A course (OCR offers two History GCSEs) for which you can do as an option War and British Society, which covers essentially the Vikings through to the "war on terror". And this includes looking at civil wars in the Middle Ages ie Stephen and John. So you would touch on the events at the end of John's reign, the French invasion and the "Magna Carta" War. Can't guarantee that Sandwich specifically gets a mention (though Dover does) but the events of 1216 certainly feature

Ashford. Downs North Green 273 Con 239 LD 15 Quite happy to have called that one wrong. Didn't think we'd manage to squeeze the Lib Dems quite that much.

Remarkably the new councillor in Oakham South, the Lib Dem Paul Browne, first stood as a Liberal candidate in the 1970 general election; this was in Rushcliffe when Ken Clarke began his long paliamentary career.
