The same Marc Scheimann who stood as a Green Party candidate in six general elections (Luton South in 1997, 2001, 2005, 2010 and 2017, and Welwyn Hatfield in 2015). Why did he leave the Green Party after so long?

His twitter feed still lists him as "Green party, GMB, and Unite trade union member" and he is re-tweeting other Green party candidates, while his leaflets say all the usual independent things such as "it's time to put residents first"  "time councillors worked FOR* the people they represent" etc, etc. His localist credentials are somewhat undermined by his leaflets being printed in Liverpool.
