By-election in Norfolk for the county council seat of Gaywood South: The first vacancy from the Class of 2021, as far as I can tell. The resigning councillor has already been in touch with me offering help with the Preview... I assume not a planned departure?

The first 2021 seat to fall vacant. His local party workers will no doubt be asking why he stood for re-election in a marginal ward only to give up the seat within the same month.

Tanbridge: Felbridge is a postponed poll following the death of the Labour candidate for a Conservative held seat being contested on 06 May. Its actually a postponed by-election, I think. The contest on 6th May would have been to fill a vacancy caused by the incumbent's death and the term was 2019-2023 so would not otherwise have been contested this year. As such, I think its the longest current unfilled vacancy in the country.

There will be a by-election in Fortune Green (Camden) after the resignation of Flick Rea (LD).

One of the longest serving London Cllrs I would imagine, with unbroken service since 1986.
Possibly longest serving LD in London (unless anyone in Richmond can beat that record?).
Flick will be much missed and is a legend within not just the Camden & London regional party but in the wider party as well.

One of the longest serving London Cllrs I would imagine, with unbroken service since 1986. There are 23 current serving councillors in London with continuous service since at least 1986. Martin Elengorn has continuous service since 1982.

The Lib Dem councillor in London who began their council career the longest ago, was only just elected for the first time as a Liberal Democrat.

Andrew Mackinlay, yes.
In addition to him there's one more current councillor who had service before 1986 - Steve Penneck of Sutton was first elected in a March 1983 byelection and served until 1994, then taking a 20 year break before returning to the council.
Elengorn, Penneck and Rea are the last to be elected as Liberals before the merger. The last to serve as an SDP councillor left office some years ago.

I live in the ward and have received quite a few leaflets from Labour and the Greens.
