erlend standing for Nelson on Norwich needing a swing of 22.5% to gain for the Liberal Democrats (FAILED) On a personal note, do we know if he is still getting better? He is still in ICU but I understand he is very slowly recovering from the surgery and level of medical intervention/support gradually being reduced.

I'm sure I read on another thread he was the one that missed out, others can confirm.

If you managed to use his correct username in tagging him in, it might give you a clue (alternatively there's a small clue in the fact that only one of the Labour candidates failed to get elected..)

that is quite the onesided, disciplined ticketsplitting outbreak. I see the voteUK poster is 21 and (which turn of phrase has a wide range of possible meanings) and I shall assume the other two are longstanding incumbents but that's still insufficient as an explanation. Why that particular Tory?

Latest on erlend. He has been sitting up in a chair and no longer needs to be on a ventilator full-time. He came off ECMO (whatever that is) a couple of days ago. Slow but steady progress.

I believe ECMO is basically an artificial heart/lung machine though Crimson King may know more. Coming off one has to be a good sign?

I've only just seen these posts since no one tagged me properly, there are some internal Labour reasons for the difference in votes between myself and the other two candidates in Norton & Askern, but it's best I don't comment in too much detail publicly for now as there are issues being dealt with. Suffice to say they were... uncooperative. Despite my best efforts I never met either of them during the campaign while all the other Labour candidates in Doncaster were out working with their ward colleagues, one of them never even responded to a single one of my phone calls or emails.
That particular Tory did well because he's local to Askern and was very active on Facebook groups in the ward. Based on what I heard from several reliable sources at the count there is more to it, but again, probably best if I don't comment further for now on here.

So, that's EMO then, not ECMO. ECMO would be extra corporeal membrane oxygenation, adding additional oxygenation to the existing corporeal membrane oxygenation, not oxygenation via a membrane outside the corpus.
