The fact that Trump won it twice is pretty astonishing, considering it was gerrymandered to be a dem vote sinkhole… In 2008 the WI-3 was 13% more Dem leaning then the US now it is 9% more GOP leaning then the US.

The demographic census is a bloody mess, what on god’s green earth did they do….. They put white hispanics as Two or more races, when they literally say in the census that Hispanic is not a race…… Their “White” category is essentially Non-Hispanic whites. With “Two or more races” mostly Hispanic Whites that for some reason.

I would recommend to compare the 2010 white alone to the 2020 white alone & in combination as the white alone category in this census is unreliable.

I'm adopted, but half Hispanic-American so not sure where I'd be classed according to this categorisation. And I look entirely white, even have grey-blue eyes! You would never think, say, Ricky Martin or Gloria Estefan weren't white. I can understand why the US wants to monitor Hispanic numbers, but it's not a racial category.

They monitor it as an ethnic group and not a race but for some reason they don’t classify White-Hispanics (W Cubans,NM Spaniards,NW Texas Latinos,Venezuelans and more..) as white in this 2020 census but as “2 or more races” (same with black Puerto Ricans and black Cubans) leading to a 20% white population drop in FL,NM,TX and 80% fall in Puerto Rico and a 9% fall nationwide. They are not even classifying then as Hispanic-Whites…..

Great maps of Pop.growth 2010-2020 are provided here: cinycmaps.com...or on the same person's Twitter-account "@cinyc9".

The map would have been easier to understand if they hadn’t put the legend right across the South East States.

Republicans gain a state Senate seat in Connecticut This is an anti-Trump seat, so it may be a sign the GOP are recovering in those areas (at least in Connecticut). Greenwich: 2004-Bush+4.9% 2012-Romney+11.34% 2020-Bidan+24.85% New Canaan: 2004-Bush+22.35% 2012-Romney+29.1% 2020-Bidan+19.76% Stamford: 2004-Kerry+18.53% 2012-Obama+25.57% 2016-Clinton+34.31%

So the recovery is even stronger.

The GOP brand in most of NE (especially in suburban CT & MA) is economically dry & socially wet
