Ken Livingstone has dementia. Bruce Kent has died. I'm not sure how they are involved?

Ken Livingstone has dementia. Bruce Kent has died. I'm not sure how they are involved? Bruce is dead, missed that. but the campaign is still active, tho in all honesty I just like researching shit and live in the full knowledge whatever happens the Venezuelan workers and peasants will lose out no matter the outcome.

Maduro very obviously and majorly lost the election, and the outside world should act accordingly. Are we 100% confident that the replacement will be less authoritarian? Are we 100% confident we (well, the US) can stomach the deaths and refugees of a potential civil war? Something like 20% of the Venezuelan population have become refugees in the past few years, so to be perfectly blunt I’m not sure how many people are left who have both the wish and means to escape.

I feel sorry for Venezuelans because the only way they’re going to get rid of this socialist regime is if their drug trafficking military overthrows the state, which will probably mean another tyranny, an outside intervention, though with Lula that’s unlikely, or a violent revolution. She's unhappy that her vote to repress others has ended up with her being repressed. Well that's learning the hard way. "Ayayayay, porqué los leopardos comen mi rostro a mi?"

This tweet is from July 30, regrettably several days later Maduro still appears to be very much in charge.

Fair enough, I am by no means an expert but am naturally cautious with this sort of regime change talk. Things can always be worse!

There are plenty of similar articles from other non Grauniad sources, basically saying the same thing. Everyone says it was fixed and the US, UK and EU refuse to recognize the results, along with many South American countries - even Brazil under Lula has said that full voting figures should be released, something that isn't going to happen for obvious reasons.
How this lead to Maduro's downfall is another question, but the groundwork is clearly there.

I think some sort of deal could be made hypothetically with Maduro to get him to go to Havana or Sao Paolo or something. However, at the risk of being labelled a doom monger again I am genuinely concerned that real change will be difficult to accomplish even if the dictator goes. Since Chavez came to power, the military has ensconced itself even deeper than it was prior. They, the VZ military, even have a drug cartel now, the "Cartel of the Suns". How the dreams of a prosperous Venezuelan democracy reconciles itself to that reality is beyond me at the moment. greydynamics.com/el-cartel-de-los-soles-the-venezuelan-nationalisation-of-crime/
