Perhaps he meant to have said "Not given birth" rather than "No children", because she does have children. Two, in fact. She has two step-children. That is not the same thing. That is a bit bland isn't it? I feel that one should always aspire to at least having a 3-step child.

If the media re-start the endless whinging about "racism and sexism" then Trump will win easily. Everyone normal is utterly sick to death of the Left framing everything about race and sex - including most of the Left. It's not 2020 any more. No one cares about George Floyd any more, and #MeToo is over and gone. The media needs to focus on the ISSUES. That's where Trump's lunacy is vulnerable...abortion, Putin, healthcare, investment. Trump wants more than anything a 6-month whinge-fest about race and sex (and gender and sexuality, and "indigenous" fluff) because that's when he's winning.

The talk before the debate was that Trump just needed to look like he wasn't going to fly off the handle.
If Harris can stick to the issues, and he and Vance just keep responding in this way, plenty of voters will respond.
To paraphrase the late great PJ O'Rourke - it doesn't matter if she's wrong about everything as long as she's wrong within normal parameters.

Agreed. Re-fighting Hillary's failed campaign will get an even worse result this time.

As far as I know not a single US President has ever given birth, so making that a prerequisite for being President would be a dramatic policy shift. I don’t understand this thinking that only people with children can possibly care about the future of the country. Thank goodness we don’t entertain such ridiculous debates here (as Andrea Leadsom found to her cost in 2016). Occasionally I have heard or read arguments from homophobic people along the same lines. “Gay people don’t have children or grandchildren, so they don’t have a stake in caring about the future in 100 years time” (or words to that effect) Indeed. And for those who say kids don’t count unless you’ve actually given birth to them, foster parents or parents who adopt their kids are obviously happy to see the world burn as well.

To paraphrase the late great PJ O'Rourke - it doesn't matter if she's wrong about everything as long as she's wrong within normal parameters. It's really simple. If the campaign can be framed as grown-up in the room v. crazy old man who's a bit of a weirdo it'll be a cakewalk. And there's masses of evidence of the latter to feed off.

The retooled campaign has raised 46 million dollars in 7 hours. That's more than the original version (including in 2020) raised in any single day. The donors are clearly back on board. I've read that Pelosi forced Biden out not just through orchestrating Congressional defections and threatening to go public herself (which did seem to be the case) but also through strangling fundraising for the campaign. So a large chunk of this money may not have been sitting around because the funders were independently worried about Biden but because they were actively in strike. And so this is the money "returning to work". If true this is a dazzling display of backroom power. Update on this: 1. ActBlue - which is where small donations come through - took $81 million in 24 hours after Biden's withdrawal in favour of Harris. This is the best 24-hour intake they have ever had. They also took in more than $20 million for downballot elections. 2. The Future Forward PAC which takes the big donor money took $150 million over the same 24 hours. In ONE DAY they more than doubled cash on hand. I'd say 1 speaks against right's argument, but 2 speaks for it. But both speak positively.

Slightly pro-GOP doesn't even come close. RCP have an absolutely solid record going back many years of including dubious GOP pollsters but excluding the equivalent pro-Dem ones, omitting polls that are good for the Dems, delaying adding good Dem polls for days or weeks until there are good Rep polls to counterbalance them, and 'weighting' polls in very odd ways.

Rick Wilson (Lincoln Project)
"Kamala Harris is the Democratic nominee for President. She buttoned up the support of the party delegates, raised $200 million in hard and soft money, and introduced the coconut tree meme, brat, and the Divine Nine to America in two days. It’s a good start, to put it mildly"
"The knives are out for J.D. Vance. Trump is talking to the old 2016 crew, including some who helped him lose bigly in 2020. He’s rage-Truthing like a methed-up tweaker after a successful run stealing catalytic converters. His spawn, particularly Cokely Von Failson, are apoplectic."
