Just when you thought it couldn't get any worse Vance is not a serious person, and is in some ways worse than Trump. Given Trump's age there is a substantial chance the VP will become president. His Hillbilly Elegy memoir was interesting and pretty brave in many ways, even if you don’t agree with the conclusions drawn from it. However in order to get into elected politics he fully went on board the Trump train after initially being very critical of him

There may have been fraud. I don't know. He thinks there was. He believes he has evidence. He has every right to speak. If Trump thinks he has evidence of election fraud he should produce it. If he claims to have evidence but keeps it hidden, then he in fact does not have evidence. Vague assertions are not enough. He needs to have concrete evidence that can be independently adjudicated in court. I might think I have evidence that Labour stole the recent UK general election. But unless I put that evidence out there for other people to scrutinise, I just be some crazy guy shouting out into the void and would rightly laughed at, ridiculed and/or ignored. It's the Masons! They control everything! Them and the fecking Jesuits!

Vance is a coward and a charlatan. If he's the pick, the GOP of old, which genuinely stood for freedom, may really be gone.

I've bet on Marco Rubio or Tim Scott being VP. I believe J.D. Vance is a rising star but is too junior in the Senate. Trump would only pick Vance IMO because he metaphorically sucked Trump's cock to get the nod in his Ohio primary in 2022.

Ohio is ruby red enough not to worry about, and Vance can't bring over significant demographics to the party, unlike Rubio.

CNN is reporting that Rubio and Burgum have been told by the Trump campaign that it isn't them.

Of course we should always be even handed and reflect on the reaction of leaders across the Western World and former US leaders to the shameful (failed) murderous attack on Trump (eg Biden, Obama, Clinton, Starmer, Macron etc) who all expressed their revulsion at the attack and condemned it emphatically and unreservedly We should also take the time to reflect on the reaction of Trump to a failed murderous attack on one of his biggest political foes... No equivalence at all. The Pelosi incident was a 'domestic invasion' by someone with a BLM flag at home

Trump's VP pick is apparently being announced later today. All indications are that it will be Vance but this could be misdirection. Simon Marks (LBCs USA correspondent) has stated that all the indications he's getting is that it will be Vance. (An example he gave what that his Secret Service protections have just been significantly upgraded...why would that be unless his status/importance has changed)
