The bottom 6 candidates total 341 votes - why not eliminate them all at once, to save time? Apart from the psephological interest, of course. That would spoil all the fun! Plus if this is done electronically there is no significant time saving involved.

I would be surprised if he voted more than 15 times.

decent vote share for the Blues and the Nats, again a bloody nose for the reds.

Elections appear to be about lines on maps, and that alone. Look at the shenanigans in the SNP? Makes no difference.

SO who know what might happen if its revealed Nicola was told don't proceed with the Salmond case and she did so anyway. The second point I would make, pinch of salt here, but the opinion polls so slightly seem to be out of sink with the 2 by elections we've had, I would say slightly over estimating the SNP, and slightly underestimating the Cons and the Labs.

Labour are held in very low regard in Aberdeen at the moment - disproportionally so compared to the rest of Scotland I'd say.

Labour are held in very low regard in Aberdeen at the moment - disproportionally so compared to the rest of Scotland I'd say. Given they are in coalition with the Tories, that's no great surprise

SNP win according to Northsound. SNP - 1661 (47.4%, +6.7) Con - 709 (20.2%, -1.3) Lab - 429 (12.2%, -5.3) Finlayson (Ind) - 367 (10.5%, -0.4) Lib Dem - 128 (3.6%, -1.6) Green - 58 (1.7%, +1.7) Other Inds x3 - 139 (4.0%, -0.3 vs diff inds) Vote Shares. That is a pretty good result for the SNP and a good result for the Tories. It’s ok for Labour but really awful for the Greens and Lib Dem’s This was a meaningless election a free hit for folk to protest aimlessly and the Greens and Lib Dem’s were ignored

In a four member ward this translates to two SNP one Tory and one seat to fight over
SNP and Tory probably don’t try for it so Labour is clear favourite

Barney used to post a lot at UK Polling Report back in the day. Always seemed very angry about life there. Not sure if he's like that in person or not?

McLean (Ind) - 92 (2.6%) Belizzi-Houston (Ind) - 31 (0.9%) Libertarian - 16 (0.5%) Iroh (Ind) - 16 (0.5%) The bottom 6 candidates total 341 votes - why not eliminate them all at once, to save time? Apart from the psephological interest, of course. Because the law governing Scottish local elections specifically and explicitly says that the votes should not be counted correctly according to the normal rules of AV.
