Labor should be fine in WA. They're already as low as they are likely to go there, Perth and Fremantle are safe and Brand should be OK.

Looks like a very strong primary vote for Bandt which has helped him overcome the Libs preferencing Labor.
Indi looking very tight.

So, not quite as bad for the ALP as many predicted - and shows that changing leader was perhaps worth it?? Still.........Tony Abbott, FFS

Still.........Tony Abbott, FFS Two things: 1) Abbott is a past master at making gaffes. 2) Leadership spills in Australia do not just happen in the ALP.

He's hardly any less plausible than Howard was. And David is sooooo right on both those other points... how did he get his job as Leader in the first place?

Widely anticipated Western Sydney collapse has not happened. Ought to be much egg on many journalistical faces... There's going to be some interesting explanations for this. I'd love to hear Newspoll explaining this to Rupert. I feel vaguely vindicated, which is always nice.

So, what about Mallee? Nats on 40%, Liberals on 25%, Labor on 19%.

Both of the Northern Territory seats look interesting. Not entirely impossible that they could swap over between Labor and CLP.

At the start of the evening/morning it looked like the 2PP might be closer than expected but that the Coalition might be getting close to 100 seats.
Actually it's looking more like the other way round now. There's still a good chance the 2PP could end up being 54-46 but the number of Coalition seats is a bit less than expected.

I think Howard was probably a bit more experienced than Abbott, and thus more credible. Abbott has been around for ever as well. Quite so. Hopefully one the Coalition do not heed.

Katter's vote has collapsed. I wonder if his electors hadn't really noticed him before the last parliament.

Katter's vote has collapsed. I wonder if his electors hadn't really noticed him before the last parliament. ABC now calling Kennedy for Katter, albeit with a huge swing against. It may be what you say but it could equally be that some of him electors didn't like him spending so much time on the national stage or that in doing say he was a bit complacent about his own seat.

I'm still laughing over Greenway, most marginal ALP seat in NSW and they have held it, who says the candidate doesn't matter.

Are you suggesting the Phillipino background of the Liberal candidate cost them the seat?
