Current Council: Lab 35; Con 14; Grn 11; LD 9; 1 vacancy Note that this is incorrect because a Labour councillor is suspended due to anti-Semitism: www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-bristol-50733700There is some weirdness because under the Mayoral system, the mayor has a vote in the chamber, so there are de-facto 71 cllrs. If Labour lose this by election, I believe they lose technical control of the Council as it will be 35 Lab :: 36 other. In reality I imagine the suspended cllr will be "cleared" immediately if the seat is lost, to avoid that happening 4 months before all-out elections.

You should tell the council - they're still giving the figures I provided on their website 😉

The 7th and 8th stuff is ridiculous - yes you came 3rd but she's acting like some ultra fringe movement, which you clearly aren't here. It's just the text equivalent of "CAN'T WIN HERE ->" on a bar chart designed to make rivals look out of the contest.

I agree the Tories are the most likely beneficiary just by standing still though

There will be some Tory to Lib Dem swing I'm pretty sure, but looking at the numbers there is a certain range of Lab to LD swing for which the Tories can lose votes but still win. I don't think they will though, they haven't done enough.

Any idea on how to view it? I just keep getting a page asking me to register my email address and, having done that, the last content I can access is from the day before the General Election?

Works for me (laptop running linux, tried it using two different browsers). It works fine if I type it into my Android phone as well.
I'd suggest those who have probelms try clearing your cache - it might be that you're having problems due to stuff that's still being stored on your machine from the GE hookup with New Stateman (when the site definitely did have that problem).

I don't think they will though, they haven't done enough. I'm always a bit nervous about the "Tories aren't working here" argument. They often seem to be able to make their contacts at a very low key level, using phones etc, and just because they are not out there in the street and in your face it doesn't mean necessarily that they aren't working away quite effectively. Really sneaky I know, and I have known a good few local parties caught out by underestimating them.

timmullen1 peterl I've never used an Apple product but I seem to recall reading that the Apple browser is very aggressive when it comes to cookies. Try the link in private/incognito mode; if that works, delete the cookies for Britain Elects and the New Statesman.
