We learned this morning that there will be a by-election on 2nd May for the Surrey CC, Haslemere division (where I am). Not yet published on the SCC website, but it's not a surprise. The outgoing Conservative councillor's attendance record has been poor (just 14% attended). At our local town meeting on Thursday, the mayor's report made some reference to this, mentioning "personal problems" and stataed that this might be resolved "soon". So it would seem to be reliable info.
Ww now have for 2nd May, all-in local elections here for Haslemere town, Waverley borough, and now a county by-election, as well as (likely EU elections). Also, depending on how things go next week in Westminster, I would not yet rule out a GE.
We're going to be busy, the next six weeks.

Cons cllr David Coltman (Three Rivers, Carpenders Park) has resigned. He is seriously ill. He is currently Vice-Chair of the Council and would otherwise have become Chariman in May. The by-election will (presumably) be held on 2 May.

Notice of election will be published on Tuesday. I have heard what you say but I do try to only include confirmed elections once the Notice of Election has been published. In the case of Portsmouth you have said this is Tuesday.

It's King's Hedges, not King's Head.

As posted elsewhere, there will be a double election in Sopwell (St Albans) after the resignation of Shakir Rahman. He was a Lib Dem councillor.
There will also be a double election in Sandhill (Sunderland) after the resignation of Lynn Appleby. She was elected under the Lib Dem banner last year, but had actually been suspended prior to the vote.

Reading council have published a notice of vacancy for Thames ward. Ed Hopper (C) appears to be the missing councillor. I would assume that this will be filled on 2nd May, although Reading have a history of staging parallel by-elections rather than double vacancies.
