The Conservative candidate has something to say. You can understand that he might think that, but I think it's the sort of thing that would have been better untweeted. As for the SDP, are they in a competition with Renew for most Twitter noise about this by-election per vote received? Only because For Britain and Democrats and Veterans haven't really discovered twitter yet😉

The For Britain candidate. >Asks people not to vote for him That's the first nationalist who truly champions 'For Britain'.

The For Britain candidate. I mean at least he's honest.

Any ideas on the Labour candidate’s views on Brexit? If she had been in the House tonight would May have squeaked a win by just 1 vote?

Any ideas on the Labour candidate’s views on Brexit? If she had been in the House tonight would May have squeaked a win by just 1 vote? This is all I can find in 15 minutes of Googling: “I will not support a botched Tory Brexit Deal or worse a No Deal Brexit that would make people in my home communities poorer”.

Yeah, but doesn’t actually tell us much. Is she in the Caroline Flint “we must honour the referendum” group or the David Lammy “we should give the people another say” group, because both would claim they’re backing the “avoid disastrous Tory Brexit” policy.

I'm sorry - "bravely standing" - it's a by-elections in South Wales, not the front line in Syria...

He has taken the talking-about-oneself-in-the-third-person thing to a new level of annoyingness. If I lived in Newport West and were tempted to vote for him, I would desist for that reason alone

I have just stumbled across this on YouTube It would have been interesting if the debate had been particularly poorly attended and the "noes" had defeated a motion to suspend.
