Antiochian Ghetto’s are legally defined as areas with at least 3 of the following; low education/employment, high levels of primary education only, high levels of income poverty, at least 3 times as many criminal convictions as Denmark as a whole, or at least 50% of residents are non-Western migrants/descendent from non-Western migrants. Individuals receiving welfare, including asylum seekers, are not allowed to settle in ghettoes. Children from ghettoes will have significant mandatory early education including in Danish values and culture. There are also plans to gentrify many neighbourhoods. The party has been translated into English as Hard Line. A google translate calls them Tight Course. Regardless, they make Gerard Batten look like a liberal lefty. They support deporting most citizens of non-Danish ancestry. They rose to fame for their leaders anti-Islam protests which included burning the Koran. Gentrifying the ghettos? Sounds like London.... Push the riffraff out into the country, they cry.... Sounds like London Overspill... Who knew that Danish planners were so far behind the UK....! Tight Course?! Ye gads... don't drop the soap...

Copenhagen has been gentrifying its ghettos for a few years now. Norrebro was a bit scary fifteen years ago, now it's full of hipsters. Some of the bits to the west aren't too clever though, probably as the inner suburbs have been cleared out a bit. Glostrup is none too clever in parts and several bits of the western suburbs are a bit grim.

Most pictures/videos I’ve seen from places legally defined as ghettoes looked quite nice (not that I’m a good judge). Maybe they avoided the worst bits?

Always painful, when the term "gentrification" is abused for Bohemiens Bourgeoises...

Wouldn't say the same of Sweden necessarily...and all the down-at-heel bits of Britain look much better than the down-at-heel bits of France and Belgium...

Can we have a poll added AdminSTB ? Options would be the 13 parties listed above, probably in unabbreviated form. I've finally got round to adding one.

An Epinion poll has the red bloc leading the blue bloc by 57% to 38%. Absolutely dire.

57.4% for the red bloc/left wing parties in the EU elections. Very much the upper end of polling if repeated at the general election. Good performances for Venstre (centre right) and Socialist People’s Party (centre left to left) and will be interesting to see if this provides them momentum for the general election.

I wonder if, given their shared concerns these days, if Mette Frederiksen would be willing to go for a minority government propped up by the DPP. Tighter immigration plus more welfare is straight from the DPP playbook after all.

Tighter immigration plus more welfare is straight from the DPP playbook after all. She would be happy too but the numbers aren’t there. Would definitely need SPP and looks likely on current polling that it will also need other parties as well. Really depends if DPP can overperform their polling as in 2015 and if the recent SPP surge continues. She could still seek some sort of confidence and supply with DPP as it’s difficult to see how a government is formed on current polling numbers. I suspect Frederiksen will seek to buy off RGA with spending galore in return for getting DPP support on immigration (SPP would be happy with this approach).

Most recent Voxmeter poll is just horrific for the blue bloc. I really can’t understate how much of a landslide it could be for the red bloc if true.
Social Democrats - 29% Venstre - 18% DPP - 10% Social Liberals - 9% SPP - 9% RGA - 9% CPP - 5% Liberal Alliance - 3% Alternative - 3% New Right - 2% Christian Democrats - 2% Hardline - 1%
Note - The bottom 3 are below the 2% threshold so would win no seats. Coalitions below will assume they win no seats.
Red bloc - 62% SD, SPP and DPP - 50.5% SD, SPP, RGA and DPP - 60% SD, DPP and Venstre - 60% SD, SPP, RGA - 49.5%
The red bloc is absolutely miles ahead but still probably couldn’t form a government all together. A pro-welfare and hardline on immigration government is polling 50.5% and would be the absolute ideal scenario for Frederiksen and stable government in general if achievable. If not, then RGA could be included on the promise of more welfare and a hardline but visibly more compassionate immigration policy. Hard to predict if they would agree to it though. If DPP are not interested in a Social Democratic government then a core red bloc get 49.5% and would be very much left wing but could have a decently hardline immigration policy. That said, DPP would probably want to be part of it just to make sure it’s properly hardline. Finally, Frederiksen could chuck the entire red bloc and form some sort of grand coalition. Seems unlikely as she would get battered from the left and would have to sell out her economic policies which would really hurt her party.
TLDR - Frederiksen will be praying for a majority with SPP and DPP. If that’s not achievable, then a lot of options that nobody really wants open up and we’re in for a mess.

Turnout reported to be way up. Final polls range from 52% red bloc to 59%. Can’t accuse the pollsters of herding at least.

Social Democrats and DPP on the lower end of their polling. If anything near right then we aren’t getting Social Democrats, DPP and SPP alone. Will need RGA or some sort of grand coalition. Of course, we are just talking about not tanking a Social Democrat minority government rather than actively supporting every one of their policies, so perhaps the smaller parties will compromise enough.

Is it possible that the red bloc, if they had significant objections to the social democrats, could partner up with the more liberal elements of Venstre?
