Jeff Evans, ynys Cybi, has quit the indy group on Ynys Môn. The ruling group has lost 3 councillors since last May's election. Now 11 inds and 2 labour. They can usually count on the support of the lone Lib Dem, but that still leaves the administration in a minority; the other cllrs are 12 PC and 4 unaffiliated.
A return to form for the island's fractious independents. Evans cites general discontent, Ind group leader briefs that it's a fit of pique for being passed over for chairmanship.

Barbara Potter , Leicester City Council from Labour to Independent . As foreshadowed in her statement last week. She was made Chief Whip of the Labour group at one point, probably in an attempt to keep her out of trouble. It didn't work. I haven't seen the denouement of this story; possibly the trial has not yet happened. |

Given what has gone on in Crewe West at Borough & Town Council levels I'd be intrigued to learn more of the claimed influx of new, younger candidates.

5 Labour councillors on Middlesbrough UA to Independent following deselection . One of the 5 had in fact won his appeal against deselection but has still resigned

In councils with four year cycles, the selections are normally a year before the election. Note the similar deselection/defection in Crewe.
