maybe it was a last ditch effort to move the labour group in a positive direction, and when that failed she decided to move to a group that has the interests of residents rather than party politics as a priority?

UKIP now up to four councillors on Hounslow, all having moved from the Conservative group in the past week. Gillian Hutchison is the latest.

Apparently she found out that she wasn't getting a position in the Borough Shadow Cabinet either so maybe this is the case. Although, it's not convincing when she has failed to raise a single objection before this time by the looks of it....

Musical chairs on Pembrokeshire. Sue Perkins from Labour to Independent Group (although she was already sitting in the cabinet in a slightly odd arrangement) David Bryan from Independent to Conservative It would be useful if these kind of posts would specify which ward the councillors represent

Reported that Carol Shaw, Lib Dem, Brent, Brondesbury Park, has returned to the Conservatives, having defected the other way in 2003. She's topped the poll in 2002(Tory)and 2006 and 2010(as a Lib Dem) several hundred votes ahead of the second and third candidates from her party.
