I wonder why Martin Peters has left the Lib Dems rather than waiting another 9 weeks when the council is abolished. He is the councillor for the next ward to the one I live in. He was an unlikely winner in his ward in 2019 quite significantly helped by an Ex Tory standing as an Independent. He has written to the local paper in the past with a Pro PR stance and said he’d previously been a member of the Labour Party so maybe a serial mover. Well, whatever the reason, he didn't hang around:
Somerset West & Taunton. Manor & Tangier. Martin Peters, Non Political Aligned (elected as Lib Dem) to Labour.
I’m less surprised by that. In One of the two wards in Taunton where Labour would barely break 10% of the vote.

Hearing from a pretty reliable source that we can expect between six and eight Amber Valley councillors to announce, on mass, that they are joining Reform in the next week or two. If it happens will be interesting to see how they do as we have all ups in May.

Not a politician of course, but Sir Rod Stewart has announced that having supported the Tories all his life he thinks Labour deserves a chance to govern now.

How could he abandon the party of Maggie and May? Sounds like he's lost his faith of the heart.

I Don't want to talk about it. Because you're sailing? Either that or he's going to move to the outskirts of town.

How could he abandon the party of Maggie and May? He asked the Shad Cab if they thought he was sexy…

How could he abandon the party of Maggie and May? He asked the Shad Cab if they thought he was sexy… And They told him "you wear it well"?

I Don't want to talk about it. Because you're sailing? Stay with me, here, but I'm more likely to be stuck on a downtown train...
