Without making assumptions, he’s named Shaun and there’s only one man amongst the four photos 🤔 Oh, nowadays I have stopped making such assumptions. Yeah, but, for the avoidance of doubt, he’s bow tie guy.

Is the bow tie a regular feature? There are quite a few bow-tied councillors who use it as part of their image. Current council leaders John Halsall (Wokingham) and David Bittleston (Woking) are two examples. I’ve now seen a photograph of the four outside the Civic Centre with the Council leader and two of the three City MPs (there are growing rumours that Stoke Central elected the Loch Ness monster so rarely is she spotted) and can attest that Cllr Bennett is resplendent in....a conventional blue tie.

Here we go again! Stoke-on-Trent City Council: Melanie Baddeley (Ex-BNP) and Jackie Barnes from City Independent to Non Aligned and will serve as “Cabinet Support Members” (🤷🏻). The CIndies, now reduced to six councillors have formally ended their coalition with the Conservatives, so the council is, for now at least, a minority Conservative administration.

Amazingly the details are on the website, but for some ungodly reason Maldon's web team decided to put the "party at time of election" on the main councillors page, and the "current party" under the "political grouping" tag, which appears only on the individual councillor pages without further explanation. Nice.

Siobhan Benita confirms she has left the Lib Dems: Does anybody know what she's referring to with the phrase "current events"? The inclusion of a grossly unsuitable candidate on the London Lib Dem mayoral candidate shortlist - see the London mayoral election thread on here for the full details.

The inclusion of a grossly unsuitable candidate on the London Lib Dem mayoral candidate shortlist - see the London mayoral election thread on here for the full details. but she indicates that there are other issues - "I couldn't run the campaign I wanted to", so not to do with the shortlisting of people to succeed her as candidate.

I took her tweets to mean that while she left for other reasons, the reason she's announcing it now is due to 'current events', i.e. the shortlisting fiasco.

I think we're now up to five members of the Labour group suspended... It's tit for tat at the moment. Berryman and Carlin were going to challenge for the leadership, so ....

Here today, gone tomorrow... As Tony will know, a candidate who decides that they know better than anyone else how a campaign should be run (regardless of cost, resources or wider strategy) is not unusual. Or helpful.
