3 Conservative defences this week with (on paper at least) Peterborough looking the closest.

KINGS LYNN & WEST NORFOLK BC, Snettisham (Con resigned) Candidates: COWARD, Erika Ingrid (Liberal Democrats) DARK, Stuart Graham (Conservatives) HANNAY, Matthew (UKIP) WALKER, Nigel Henry (Green)
2015: Con 1537, 1354; Lab 636, 474 May 13 by: Con 593; UKIP 361; Lab 216 2011: Con 1113, 969; Lab 494 2007: Con 1080, 1005; Lab 358 Dec 04 by: Con 437; LD 247; Lab 121; Ind 120 (Con gain from indy) 2003: Ind 1217, 887; Con 605, 549; Lab 296
The top placed in indy from 2003 was the top placed Conservative in 2007 and 2011.
PETERBOROUGH UA, Orton Longueville (Con resigned) Candidates: AIREY, Alex (Green) ELSEY, Gavin Anthony (Conservative) GIBBS, Daniel (Liberal Democrat) SKIBSTED, Heather Caroline Joy (Labour) WHITEHEAD, Graham John (UKIP)

The Greens, Lib Dems and Labour are all re-standing their candidates from May, with the Green also having stood in 2016.

It seems surprising that Labour are not standing in Snettisham.

It seems surprising that Labour are not standing in Snettisham. I am wondering how they got 21.6 votes in a previous election!

Given today's breaking news the Peterborough result will be of added interest.

Given today's breaking news the Peterborough result will be of added interest. The ward isn't in the Parliamentary seat.

Given today's breaking news the Peterborough result will be of added interest. The ward isn't in the Parliamentary seat. Do the voters know that?

Very good. He's right about Fylde rugby club playing in Ansdell ward. I can add that visitors to the club on 1st XV home game days may well find the chairman of World Rugby, former Fylde player and England and Lions captain Bill Beaumont in attendance, since he remains a loyal club man to his boots. There are no airs and graces about him, he's happy to exchange post-match chat with anyone, win lose or draw. Top bloke.

Is this the ward that is essentially keeping the Conservatives in control in Peterborough?
Edit: I've read Andrew's guide and it is indeed.

If UKIP are flickering into life anywhere, then Orton Longueville might have been one of those places, Didn’t expect them to finish 5th.
