KING'S LYNN AND WEST NORFOLK Snettisham Stuart Graham DARK (The Conservative Party Candidate) 613 Erika Ingrid COWARD (Liberal Democrats) 66 Nigel Henry WALKER (Green Party) 65 Matthew HANNAY (U K Independence Party (UKIP)) 48 As with the Orton Longueville comment above, if UKIP were flickering to life I'd have expected to see it here. i imagine that it might take a while for the flickering to develop into effective campaigning at a local level, even in places where it was previously strong. But i don't think that is actually the objective of the "re-boot".

Didn't expect the Tories to do as well as that, did any of the other parties even bother to campaign?

Disappointed with the LD performance, though - a lot of us expected more -maybe one of those campaigns more externally high profile rather than putting in the work on the ground?

That’s a pretty decent week for the Conservatives.
Was the Conservative candidate in Snettisham the only one who lived in the ward?
I think I noted that the Liberal Democrat candidate lived a little way away.

Didn't expect the Tories to do as well as that, did any of the other parties even bother to campaign? I guess one possible factor is that pensioners tend to go on holiday outside school holidays while younger people with kids are likely to be away? It would be interesting to analyse for a summer holiday effect...

KING'S LYNN AND WEST NORFOLK Snettisham Stuart Graham DARK (The Conservative Party Candidate) 613 Erika Ingrid COWARD (Liberal Democrats) 66 Nigel Henry WALKER (Green Party) 65 Matthew HANNAY (U K Independence Party (UKIP)) 48 The absence of a Labour candidate made me wonder if there were a lot of spoilt votes, but there were only 4. On another note, the day must have been fun for the three staff in the polling station at Sedgeford village hall, where 54 people voted: www.west-norfolk.gov.uk/news/article/506/snettisham_ward_by-election_result
