Looks as if this time the collapse of UKIP put the LibDems above the Tories!

Looks as if this time the collapse of UKIP put the LibDems above the Tories! That does not surprise me! Many Kippers are "none of the above" types and in a local election (where I am sure Brexit was not mentioned) they will vote against "the establishment". Of course I am sure there was a bit of "churn" in there as well

2 more good gains for the Lib Dems. These two were much more predictable than some of the recent gains.

Can't say the LD gain in Lymm was a surprise. The councillor who died (Sheila Woodyatt) had a large personal vote that prevented the Lib Dems getting all of the council seats in Lymm even in the mid-90's.
Without Sheila, the conservatives have every risk of being completely wiped off Warrington council at the next set of electipns there.

46% of first preferences for Conservatives in Highland. Conservatives up and SNP down. Don’t know the rest of the figures yet.

I've been patiently explaining to a number of people how the LibDem wins in both Thatcham and Lymm are really not anything to do with Brexit!

I've been patiently explaining to a number of people how the LibDem wins in both Thatcham and Lymm are really not anything to do with Brexit! I've seen some of the #FBPE cult claiming that the recent LibDem byelection gain in Sunderland is PROOF that everybody wants a SECOND REFERENDUM NOW!!
