If that is right, I'm really rather annoyed. I was hoping someone else would win a month, and I can think of no-one more deserving than Yellow Peril, who may have been denied at the very last moment, and by an insignificant amount. Still, all I can do is just stick down some guesses, and then leave things in the lap of the gods. With whom, I can say with assurance, I have no special arrangement ... It's just a matter of time, please everyone, do keep going!

Still awaiting confirmation, but if you have just edged it on the line I really don't think that should cause any grief, least of all by you, Robert. I am here to learn and feel I still have a lot to learn especially about Scottish by-elections which may have caused me to come to grief here underestimating SNP and overestimating the Indies.

I make it that Robert has pipped Yellow Peril by 1.2 with Hempie a close 3rd. Awaiting official confirmation though.

Mafeking has been relieved (or rather, I've only just got back in from work! Either way I've updated the results!) Subject to confirmation, Robert does indeed take the month by around two faults ahead of Yellow Peril, great showing by both him and Right Leaning who take first and second weekly spots this week. Also congrats to thebartonsrule14 who scored best in the Highland result. Full preliminary results available in the spreadsheet further up the thread.

Well done Robbie and you confirm my calculation, so would be very surprised if ME found it somehow different, and congratulations to Robert who simply manages to avoid the big mistakes us ordinary mortals fall into sooner or later even when on a good streak! I'm well pleased with a strong second.

Apologies for the late posting, but called in at our daughter's yesterday, had a bbq with a couple of bottles and then fell asleep. Stayed the night and only got back home this evening.

Thanks, for noting the mistake. Blamed on a touch of heat-stroke.

A fluke that i got Highland so close i just went on instinct of a 2 horse race and the rest being squeezed.

A fluke that i got Highland so close i just went on instinct of a 2 horse race and the rest being squeezed. and what sort of Lib Dem am I, not to recognise a 2-horse race when I see one? I went for another stereotype, the one where the Indies do exceptionally well in the Highlands, but not sure it applies to strongly Tory areas like Perthshire?

I had no idea how the Indies would fare, but Scotland is polarised between Unionist/Nationalist camps, and Labour/LibDems were never in contention.
