Temporary drummer, I think. Anyway, enough of all this Beatles related ephemera, if anyone has not been to Stamford I recommend they give it a try. It was featured as one of the 'six best towns' in England by the architectural historian Alec Clifton Taylor (everybody will have forgotten that too*) and it lives up to the bill. Stamford was one of my very favourite trips when their football team was in the same league as mine (a far cry from Workington, Corby or South Elmsall). But I strongly recommend approaching from the south exit from the A1, as you get straight into the old part of the town without going through modern suburbs (due to the influence of the Burghley estate). *Reminder here. Folk may argue about the 6 English towns and 6 more English towns. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alec_Clifton-Taylor

There was also a Stamford Jimmy Nicol ward but it was taken out of service after only about a week and most people have already forgotten it. i thought it had been there since quarrymen got the vote?

I was at school with David - didn't realise he had any political leanings.

Bit of ramping there. Labour's performances in Longbeck have been less than stellar.

After last weeks Conservative ‘disaster’, a pretty good week for them this week.
The fickle world of local by elections!
