I forgot, that in BaselCity the RunOff for government and presidency took place last SunDay. RedGreen (or at least Red-RedGreen) lost its majority in the cabinet and the GreenLiberals will be the "KingMaker". The presidency was defended by them though, but as it is a mostly ceremonial position its new incumbent (from SPS, gaining it from GPS) wasn't too glad for being elected... FDP will be outside the government for the first time since its formation; instead their ally - the LiberalDemocraticParty/LDP (the party of the old liberal anti-democratic patricians ["Daig"]) - will have 2 ministers (all in all: 1 GPS, 2 SPS, 1 GLP, 1 CVP, 2 LDP).
Reported was, that St.Gallen fell - as roughly the last city in CH - to the left. (The parliament already 6 years ago, the presidency - nearly always belonging to FDP - was lost this time.)
In Davos SPS captured from FDP another president. The new mayor began as an anti-WorldEconomicForum agitator and now he wants to reestablish it in 2022. (The Puritans/"intellectuals" finally fuelling bourgeois capitalism - who would have expected that...)

For the GreenLiberals it is the only cantonal minister (several cities have them though) at the moment and the second one in their entire history. (Mrs.Diener, who founded the party together with Mr.Bäumle, had been elected in canton Zurich, but initially for the GPS.)

Apropos BaselCity - here is an OverView of the cantonal ElectionResults: This time the third-best OutCome for the Left and -worst for the Right (putting LdU and GreenLib. to the left bloc is doubtlessly disputeable.)

Valais/Wallis will elect tomorrow its - parliament: - and its government: Important will be, that the german UpperV. will try to defend its 2/5 ministers. Apart from the CVP-incumbent and a GPS-woman, who is chanceless, of course, only the SVP-candidate is from there. Expect insanely high numbers for him from that part, which is conservative anyway.

Solothurn is the only other canton with both elections happening: Here the governmential race is also the more interesting one: Both CVP-ministers retire, making it hard for CVP/TheMid to defend both. SVP will likely fail as usual, FDP would like to get back its traditional 2nd seat lost last time to TheGreens. In recent federal elections SO has someTimes been the only canton with a (low) FDP-majority.

If anyone is interested: There will happen lots of local elections today: In nearly whole Fribourg/Freiburg, in Vaud aso. Also Geneva on replacing the trialed Maudet (PLR/FDP), who is candidating to replace himself (his re-election would be as unlikely as hilarious). In canton Glarus a CVP-minister retires and SPS tries to get back its representation in government.

In canton Solothurn 101/107 municipalities are counted and the SVP-candidate is - as expected - far behind. Those of FDP and CVP are equally strong, so the government's composition will be 1 GPS, 1 SPS; 1-2 CVP, 1-2 FDP.
Already now, before SolothurnCity or Olten are included, the GPS-woman is on second place! (A little bit explainable by the fact, that the 3 incumbents came as usual ahead and the SPS-HealthMinister has been unpopular due to the handling of Corona.)

In Glarus the CVP-defender ended ahead of the SPS-challenger, but failed to achieve a qualified majority, resulting in a very rare second round.

In Geneva 95% of the PostalVotes are counted and the OutCome is, that the TheGreens-woman is far ahead of - Maudet! Next in the divided mid-right field is the FDP-candidate. In order to save its face PLR/FDP will have to run in the 2nd battle, what will make it easy for the PVS/GPS to prevail and get a left majority with PSS/SPS.

In Valais/Wallis 114/122 is in and CVP is in front with 2/3 ministers(49.000 & 43.). Followed by SVP (37.), FDP, SPS and the third CVP-man (all around 35.000).

The 2 CVP- and 1 FDP-runners might have to go into a RunOff. With the left having defended its 2 ministers it is doubtful, that their voters will turn out next time, what should help FDP.

In Valais/Wallis all minister-candidates missed an OverallMajority. Finally the SVP-man ended on 6th place; but look, how well he did in german UpperVS ("OberW."):

Solothurn, government (final): Narrow fight for the 5th seat between CVP and FDP. Will go into a second round.

Strange, that even in a RailWay-center like Olten the GPS-ministra came in first:

In Solothurn Olten & SolothurnCity aren't done and the cantonal WebSite isn't able to add the district-results, but it seems to be:
24 (-4) FDP 23 (+5) SVP 21 (+1) CVP 19 (-4) SPS 08 (+1) GPS 05 (+2) GLP 00 (-1) EVP
Even without the 2 towns a remarkable result for SVP. Partly caused by the fact, that the party had not maxed out its potential in the canton. Last time SPS achieved "strong" (for CH-levels) gains (+2.?%).

In Valais/Wallis everything would be counted for the parliament, too. But their WebSite is also incapable of presenting totals.

In SO's most populous city Olten the left defended its minister-majority alreadyy in the first round: The mayor ("CityPresident") - a largely ceremonial position - could fall in the RunOff on April 25th to a left party (SPS) - for the first time since its creation (in the 1820ies)!
