How stupid and inconsiderate. How can we give due attention to the Greek election that weekend when we'll be digesting the results of our own local and London elections?

ha ha Pete given the last set of Greek Polls how the hell will they ever be able to form a government ? Simple, blame the Greek electoral system that awards an extra 40 seats to the winner of the popular vote (even if they get one more vote than the runner up). Based on the most recent polls, if that bonus was not applied, New Democracy would be on 70 or so seats (not the 110 that some forecasts have them on)

I should have exalted that when it first came out. Have done so now. It does make a lot of point.

Having looked at what purported to be an early exit poll. All I can say is It may take a while to form a government....

ND 17-20% PASOK 14-17% SYRIZA 15,5-18,5% AN. ELLHN. 10-12% KKE 7,5-9,5% XRYSH AYGH 6-8% DHMAR 4,5-6,5%

That's different to another one I saw which put ND much higher and SYRIZA quite a bit lower.

That's a sickeningly high score for such openly Nazi-like Nazis.

That's a sickeningly high score for such openly Nazi-like Nazis. Isn't it just, LAOS look like they won't make it into parliament, their voters have gone full-on swastika, rather than hiding behind beards and incense.

Greece looks ungovernable to me. I certainly can't see it remaining viable as a Eurozone member much longer. The danger is that it isn't quite 40 years since Greece stopped being ruled by the army. Could quite envisage another coup then we'd have a whole new ball game!

The sad truth is it basically doesn't matter who they vote for. They've signed up for a deal and Greece has Hobson's choice of either honouring it, with all the austerity they can stand, or withdrawing from the world economy.

Pasok drop to third now. Assorted left creep into 2nd place with ND vote falling below 22%...

There is room for a ND government with supply from PASOK. But doubt PASOK will play ball.
