One for the collection of dodgy barcharts from Sutton I take it this is from the GLA election ;D It appears to be the GLA member result from 2012, although the 'rounding' adds +2% to the Labour share and subtracts 1% from LD. The slanted columns and scale are obviously misleading.

Vale Of White Horse is 2 X LD gains from Conservative LD 62.5% Con 37.5% So that's eight gains in three weeks... Tory mid term blues continue... UKIP win nothing... Real votes, real campaigns, real results. Can't remember either Labour or the Tories making these kind of gains at this time in a parliament where they were very unpopular nationally. Fascinating.

Yes, but you were doing similar in the late 1980s when you were in single figures in the polls (sometimes even lower than now) We have just had half a dozen parliamentary by-elections. They each (to a greater or lesser extent) told a rather different story - one that backs up the polls. Sorry

It is noticable that you are making these gains against the Tories and where Labour really can not win. I do wonder in these areas will you actually retain and gain some labour votes to knock out incumbents. In Parliamentary terms we do need a by election in places like the SW where we are a poor third.
