Putting this here to try and keep track of changes to the devolved bodies and (for as long as we still have it) the European Parliament.
In London, list member Kemi Badenoch (C) is now the MP for Saffron Walden and Susan Hall has taken her place.
In Holyrood, Rachael Hamilton (C, South of Scotland) resigned to contest the Ettrick, Roxburgh and Berwickshire by-election and Michelle Ballantyne has taken her list place. Hamilton subsequently won the by-election.
Five MEPs were elected to Parliament in June:
Anneliese Dodds (Lab, South East) is now MP for Oxford East and John Howarth has taken her place in the European Parliament.
Vicky Ford (C, Eastern) is now MP for Chelmsford and John Flack has taken her place.
Md Afzal Khan (Lab, North West) is now MP for Manchester Gorton and Wajid Khan has taken his place.
Andrew Lewer (C, East Midlands) is now MP for Northampton South. Next in line on the Conservative list is paranormal export Rupert Matthews; if he's not thought to be suitable for any reason, next in line after that is Stephen Castens.
Ian Duncan (C, Scotland) has been elevated to the peerage and is now a Scotland Office minister. Next in line is Belinda Don, followed by Nosheena Mobarik and Jamie Gardiner; but reportedly the Scottish Tory leadership wants the replacement to be Iain McGill, who was fifth on the original list. Don is not happy and has started legal action against the party.

It's Professor Rupert Matthews, surely.
He must be gutted about this: twice it's been in his grasp and after this that's it.

I am not quite sure how each party decides their list order for devolved bodies, etc. I know Lib Dems are all decided by ballot of members and I'm not sure how many parties follow the same procedure. If its done by ballot, the party leadership should have no role on deciding succession -it automatically goes to the next in line unless I suppose the leadership leans heavily on the next in line to withdraw, which I would think would be scandalous. But that's what you get with iniquitous closed list systems.

She will be replaced by Rory Palmer, who is currently Deputy Mayor in Leicester and represents the ward I grew up in. Delighted for Rory.

Roger Helmer (UKIP, East Midlands) has resigned as MEP. Jonathan Bullock has taken his place.
Still no replacement for Duncan though.

Helmer has retired I understand. Its not very democratic to replace an elected member by an unelected and unaccountable representative. Perhaps UKIP should have held a primary to decide on who would replace the elected MP?

Their replacement was on the party list in 2014, so in that sense they have sort of been "elected"?
(and its the procedure for all parties, not just UKIP)

Who would want to take up being an MEP now? I suppose there are some nice exes to trouser but that's about it- a UKIP MEP especially won't be eyeing a place at Westminster down the line.

Nice little earner. Good expenses.
First Class to Brussels by train with meals and wine.
I like Bruxelles.
I like being rude to eurocrats.
Perfect job.
