For some reason "Phil Williams" strikes me as being the generic LibDem candidate name. During the many years I lived in Bristol, it seemed to me that every other Lib Dem candidate seemed to be called Wright. Perhaps that's why they were "all right" rather than "alt right" loosers...

ffs Middlesbrough, do you like us or not, make up your mind! It's worth remembering those changes are from the 2015 results, held on the same day as the GE. I'd expect the Labour vote to drop disproportionately from that.

A particularly fascinating review of the Chorleywood/Maple Cross election . Entrants to the by-election competition should note that Three Rivers has a tradition of counting on Friday morning. It's a dire preview- it doesn't mention the genius of the 2010 candidate for one of the predecessor wards.

I have a feeling Elgin City North will be counting tomorrow - the last byelection in the ward in December 2014 was counted on the following morning.

Honours even in the #Didcot by-elections. One #Conservative hold, one #Labour hold.

For some reason "Phil Williams" strikes me as being the generic LibDem candidate name. And btw is the 2x resignation in Didcot a coincidence?I wondered about this too.. from different parties too, so it was hardly likely to be a joint decision... hmmm

I thought Coleshill was pronounced as written but maybe locals do say "Kohzel".

I thought Coleshill was pronounced as written but maybe locals do say "Kohzel". Never heard it as anything other than Coleshill and I've been there a few times.

I thought Coleshill was pronounced as written but maybe locals do say "Kohzel". It's not really the sort of place that has "locals".

Kohzel to rhyme with Local? Perhaps it is how they say it in the local after a few
