There’s also a LD, when was the last time that happened here? A by election in 2011 in Barpool I believe. Also I'm sure there was a Lib Dem in Arbury on the County Council in 2021

There’s also a LD, when was the last time that happened here? Now edited in. The format makes it more difficult to spot a single candidate from an unexpected party.

It feels like the sort of area where Reform could poll relatively well.

This will be a strange election. There's some strong Conservative incumbencies in certain wards that ought to resist the national swing, and the new ward will probably benefit the Conservatives.
It doesn't seem like Labour's operation has improved or grown much since their 2018 nadir, but they'll benefit from the national picture.
All out elections will complicate things and I wouldn't be surprised to see split votes in some of the wards. Doubt the Greens will get any headway, and will win one or both Weddington seats and probably won't come close elsewhere.
Would not be surprised if the council went NOC. If there's a majority for either party, it'll be narrow.

I think this borough could be a strong candidate for being a 'wrong winner' borough, where Labour top the poll borough wide but the Conservatives get more seats. The new wards on the east of the borough will initially have low electorates until the new houses are built, and will likely elect Conservative councillors on very small votes.

My personal feeling from campaigning and looking at the new wards and candidates is something like this:
Con:18 Lab:16 Green:2
Feel free to laugh at me when I'm inevitably wrong. Labour, at least on local community forums, seem to be very confident of winning every seat in Bedworth, which I suspect will be overconfidence on their part, not reflecting actual effort put on the ground. Labour List seem to think Slough ward is neck and neck, but to my knowledge Labour haven't been leafleting much here until recently.
The greens seem to be focusing on defending Weddington, and I'm surprised how few candidates they have. They have two candidates in Poplar, but to my knowledge haven't been campaigning in the seat.
I don't expect any third party candidates or independents to even come close to winning.

I find it very interesting that it is the Coventry Telegraph (Nuneaton edition) that is going to publish the results today not the local council, but at least they have informed me that the count will start at 10.00am, therefore based on past elections we can expect results to start trickling in around midday onwards

Luke Charles – Labour: 576
Kristine Alicia Cope – Green: 162
Richard John Cope – Green: 147
Robert Gordon Copland - Labour 563
Amarjit Khangura – Conservative: 619 (Elected for two years)
Bhagwant Singh Pandher – Conservative: Conservative: 674 (Elected or four years
Turnout: 28.62%
On a personal level, very happy to see that Bhagwant was re-elected. This was Labour's safest ward in the borough a few elections ago and was very much an unknown quantity this time around.

Exhall is split. Labour comeback in Bedworth is only partial.
