The Conservatives have reselected all of their constituency AMs:
Bexley and Bromley: Peter Fortune Croydon and Sutton: Neil Garratt Havering and Redbridge: Keith Prince South West: Nick Rogers West Central: Tony Devenish
No news on the London Members (ie the list). Labour has yet to start the reselection process.

As noted, Nick Rogers has announced his retirement in South West. Two other Conservative Assembly candidates have been selected.
Barnet and Camden: Julie Redmond (candidate for West End ward on Westminster City Council in 2022; Chair of the Marylebone Association) City and East: Freddie Downing (Assistant to Lucy Frazer MP) Ealing and Hillingdon: Henry Higgins (Hillingdon borough councillor since 2002)

With a little bit of luck he might

Genuine question - does Berry have any connection to Brighton?

Genuine question - does Berry have any connection to Brighton? Nor do plenty of voters given the transient nature of the local populace.

It’s never-ending ain’t it! Is Nick Rogers just sick of it? It’s unfortunate to lose one so youthful, so early in their career.

Probably not much chance of the Conservatives holding the South West London seat based on last year's Council elections. I suspect he's probably got Parliamentary ambitions as well.

Their only hope is a split-down-the-middle anti-Tory vote which could happen, with Labour totally dominant in Hounslow but the Lib Dems heavily ahead in the other 2 boroughs. Labour actually reduced the percentage Tory majority over them in the last elections, despite losing second place in the constituency. A Tory third place is a distinct possibility with the polls considerably worse (at present anyway) for the Tories than they were at the time of the last elections.

The GLA elections could be awful for the Tories - losing 4 constituency seats and probably only safely picking up 2 on the list to compensate. All the Labour seats will probably be constituency members, with the greens/Lib Dems/Tories/Reform fighting those D'hondt margins for the last 2 seats.

I get the impression the size of the London assembly constituencies does make things a bit hard to predict even in a national environment like this

in the case of South-West that's certainly true, as the constituent boroughs are so contrasting politically & demographically. Havering & Redbridge is also not straightforward. The others are a little less difficult.

Bit off topic but am I correct in saying there’s never been a London Assembly by-election?

I think you're right, I can't recall one.

I think you're right, I can't recall one. There’s been a handful in the Scottish and Welsh parliaments/assemblies since they were all formed at roughly the same time but I suppose the London Assembly is considerably smaller than both
