FML I know its only one poll but just how thick are people! Didnt any of them watch the debates (where Johnson was poor) or that lunatic on Question Time? I just despair of the electorate. That's a lead of peak-Blair proportions! madness! Maybe they have a different perspective to you. 90% of them didn’t watch the debates and the only headline that The 40%-50% who want Brexit heard was Corbyn commit to a neutral position. I’m sure everyone of us considers the half of people who don’t vote the same way as we do, including friends and family, as thick.....😀

As the make up of Question Time audiences (all those lunatics!) is now apparently to be considered an important factor in determining one's vote, I imagine that bringing in a few wise sages with LD membership cards to ask reasonable questions at future TV debates will have a Tsunami-like effect on the polls in their party's favour. After all, the people would be very, very silly if they reacted in any other manner.

People are thick because they don't vote the way you want them to. Right.. If you put the issue of Brexit aside, the idea that Boris Johnson is doing so well after his poor performance as Foreign Secretary and his flip flopping on every issue for personal advantage (including the EU where he was once a strong advocate of the Single Market and admission of Turkey) is a bit worrying..

People are thick because they don't vote the way you want them to. Right.. It's the other way round, actually. Brits don't vote the way I want them to because Brits are thick.

That poll looks like an outlier, of which we expect a few during the campaign.

Scotch Gloria.......... ...................The Swansong kid. Nope, still none the wiser. Swinson - sounds a bit like Swanson
Gloria Swanson - remembered these days principally for her role as a faded film star in "Sunset Boulevard". A brave move, as she was, at that point, a bit of a faded star herself. She had been a 'silent star' and although she embraced the talkies they didn't quite embrace her.
The film has a few classic and oft repeated lines:
"I am big, it's just the pictures that got small"
"All right Mr De Mille I'm ready for my close up"
"We didn't need dialogue, we had faces" (particularly true in her case and people like Clara Bow).
Hence 'Scotch Gloria'.

Interesting fact. The Tories majority of Labour has increased by around 10 points in 2 weeks with Opinium while Corbyns personal ratings have improved by around 10 points in that time

In other words it's an extremely tenuous and obscure inside joke?

In other words it's an extremely tenuous and obscure inside joke? Ah, well that would be a matter of opinion.
I guess Carlton's view is that she is a fading star who never rose much in the first place....

In other words it's an extremely tenuous and obscure inside joke? All the best jokes are. My able assistant has made a wonderful explication. The inherent soul of art and culture is artifice as employed through erudition and ambiguity.
