Comres record in 2017 and last month’s Euros wasn’t great, so need a corroborating poll to give this much credit.

This whole thing of "Boris Johnson is our saviour" is nonsense anyway.
As evidenced when he was Foreign Secretary, the more people see of him the more unpopular he becomes. That's only going to be worse in the event of him being PM.

The base poll as quoted by carolus is plausible enough, the problem is with the Telegraph's attempt to use those figures to suggest a party currently 3 points behind and on 24% is going to win a massive landslide because of Boris. Presumably they assume the whole BxP vote would transfer wholesale.

This is ComedyResults living up to that old nickname again.
Still, the hypothetical polling figures for Stewart can't fail to amuse given the collective orgasm our pundits had over him yesterday.

I didn’t think hypothetical polling could get worse. I didn’t anticipate they would be stupid enough to add seat projections.

Has Goodwin wrote a piece for the Telegraph on why Boris would guarantee a Conservative landslide yet?

Absolutely bizarre statement for the head of Comres to be making - throwing away all pretence of impartiality. From the telegraph article about the poll:

If it is broadly correct, those would do best are the two who resigned from the cabinet over Brexit.

Maybe they'll be a Lib Dem version - 468 seats will turn yellow if Swinson is leader, but elect Davey and the deposit in Bath will be lost.

I thought we all agreed hypothetical polls are bunkum. The public are no bloody good at predicting how they will react to future events.

It seems we're now comparing hypothetical polls to previous hypothetical polls and noting the changes thereof. Heaven help us.

Though the fact this poll shows Johnson doing less well hypothetically than the previous one did, is an amusing thing for the Borisograph to have to explain away.
