He is the one politician that I keep hearing everyone I know speak of positively at the moment. Cleggmania seems an apt comparison! To an extent though, he has a bit of a free hit. There isn't any critic who can use the line "when I was brand-new to the job and had to deal with a global pandemic...". He is an impressive politician and I do like him. He's on top of his brief and always gives good speeches. But let's be honest, any chancellor would be enacting the same policies right now.

He started this month shadowing the outgoing clark, and is on his own from next month.

Give it time. (Ten weeks?) though why anyone is doing "Westminster voting intention" polls at the moment is a mystery. Why anyone things this collection of misfits, buffoons, liars, incompetents and charlatans is to be voted for at present may be less of a mystery.

Yes Tony, I'm wondering why anyone would vote Lib Dem as well.

Always trust Tories to divert the issue when anyone points pout the truth about them! Somehow, pouting the truth seems somewhat apt for a number of people 😉

The man nearly died and people are understandably sympathetic. His long-term political prospects and popularity are not certain. Very little is at the moment.

A poll on how people think the government is doing with respect to protective equipment:
Presumably the recent criticism from the Telegraph's is having some effect.
