Just seen a post of an old postcard from 1911...
Addressed to Miss Veale of Allerton, Darlington, near Totnes
'Dear (name illegible)
Don't never call Duke our MP for he isn't. I went to a protest meeting Sat evening had a ripping time
If Judge Ridley had not gone the same day we shall have given him what he never expected.
Duke to afraid to come out on the open..coward.
Sorry you did not pass, try again.
Love (name illegible)'
Which has highlighted the very strange events of the petition, where judges struck off votes for people being employed by one campaign or another. Yet allowing the vote of a person who voted as the previous occupier of their house!
Fascinating.
