Technically correct though we may miss the odd one and the odd council may neglect to post the info on their website .

Do local councils still have a choice as to whether to include by-elections on the same ballot paper as the scheduled elections in those places where both are taking place? Personally I think they should always be on separate ballot papers.

York, Sheffield and Nottingham have no other elections on 4th May so there's not the same imperative as in the shire districts.

Tidying up some loose ends, the new West Berkshire vacancy is in Thatcham South and Crookham ward. The Labour councillors in East Staffordshire who have resigned are Julian Mott (Horninglow ward) and Bill Ganley (Shobnall ward).
