Seeing as my deadline has come and gone with no movement, I should explain what is going on.
At the moment LEAP is returning Error 404 (file not found). This is because the server problem has wiped the home directory, which is where all of the website's scripts and files live. My web hosting company is working on restoring the LEAP home directory from backups. In this connection they have made the following statement:
UPDATE 22/04/2018 9.40AM:
Home directory folders are still being restored. The majority of accounts (over 50%) have now been restored, however there's still quite a few outstanding.
The reason this is taking longer than expected is due to the performance of the backup server - we use the industry standard R1Soft service, however it's not sending the restoration data at the rate we expect it to.
We understand some customers are frustrated, however we're doing everything we can to restore accounts as fast as possible 24/7. We are prioritising accounts of those who have opened a ticket.
We've also taken the decision to completely replace our backup systems once this is complete, we do understand that this level of restoration performance is completely unacceptable going forward. This is the first time we've ever had to restore this much data in recent history, certainly the past 5 years.
That's my web host's role. However, restoring the home directory will not be the end of the matter as I need to make amendments to the LEAP files once they are restored. I intend to explain this further in a future post.
So you may still be getting errors for some time yet. All I can do at this stage is apologise and ask for your patience.
