I have received the following message from ProBoards Abuse Department:
The offending post, which featured a photograph of a topless young woman, came from a thread that was created well over a year ago on the subject of Page 3 girls featuring in The Sun newspaper. That thread has now been removed. I must ask that if anyone notices adult content anywhere on the forum, no matter how long ago it was posted, that it is promptly reported to me so it can be deleted.
I'm sure the last thing any of us want is for this website to be taken offline by the powers that be.

After consultation with those of Top Poster status (ie, the default rank for those who have posted over 3,000 times), I have decided to ban AustralianSwingVoter for an indefinite period. By his own admission, he is very irritating. However, I do think he might have some potential. He's only 13 and has certainly has enthusiasm; I just don't think he fits in well with a large proportion of this forum's membership at this time. I have created a separate forum on a trial basis for him and those who don't mind his presence at boundarygames.proboards.com/ .

As part of the general consensus of the Global Moderators and feedback from numerous forum members across the political spectrum, user auntieannie has been banned for trolling; ie. starting provocative threads and not engaging in genuine debate.

I'm going to lift the ban on AustralianSwingVoter on the following conditions following our conversation on boundarygames.proboards.com/ : - To avoid stating obvious things when making predictions. For example, everyone knows the Republicans are going to win Wyoming. That's what a lot of people regard as spamming. - To be patient. Not to push people harder if they don't give him what he asks them straight away. Anyone can make requests in the "Ask the Forum" thread. - Not to type placeholders, prepare content in advance, and only post it when it's complete. - Just to avoid doing anything that might annoy someone, including liking thousands of posts just for the sake of it. He has agreed to the above and shall only participate in conversations on the boundaries, parliamentary by-elections, 2017 elections, the Psephological Society board and the international elections boards. The only things he shall do on any other boards is participate in polls. I warned him that if anyone complains about him again and I think their complaint is justified, I'm going to have to ban him again until he reaches adulthood.

As the host of this increasingly busy forum, I have become concerned and paranoid about potentially libellous content being posted. It puts the very existence of this forum at risk.
I appeal to members to bring to my attention without delay any libellous content as soon as they spot it, so that it can be deleted by myself or the Global Moderators straight away.
No Administrator - especially one such as myself who works in full time employment and has a young family - can reasonably be expected to live a normal life offline as well as keep up with the volume of posts made on this forum, so I ask that specific posts containing potentially libellous material be reported using the drop down arrow next to the cog icon to be sure it will be removed as soon as ever possible.
Any members responsible for posting potentially libellous content will receive a private message in the first instance, and will be subject to bans if further potentially libellous content is posted.

User Ghyl Tarvoke has been given a 24 hour ban for making a libellous comment, which has now been deleted along with posts which quoted that libellous comment.

I have appointed @boogieeck as Forum Pollster, a post that had been vacant since I became Administrator. He is still displayed as a Scottish Whig.
The Forum Pollster can add polls to any thread of their choosing, and has some limited powers to assist the moderators such as removing spam and other prohibited material.
He does not have access to the Admin control panel and thus does not deal with reported posts, and therefore should not be considered a Moderator.
He can also, if he so wishes, take responsibility for the annual awards season each December (Personality, Newcomer, Technical Contributor and new to 2016 - Thread of the Year).

I will decline requests from new members to be assigned to a party group if the member making the request already has another account and is part of a different party group. I routinely check the IP addresses of all new members and having multiple accounts is something I normally discourage in any event.

User AustralianSwingVoter has been banned until December 2020 for posting a placeholder, which breaches our agreed terms as to his continued use of this forum. I think I've been very patient with him and now I've had enough. I've invited him to post at boundarygames.proboards.com/ if anyone wants to continue to interact with him in the meantime, as I recognise his enthusiasm and potential.

The ban on AustralianSwingVoter is now permanent following his antics today, ie. registering a new account whilst banned. I have also changed settings which mean that new member accounts must be approved by a Global Moderator, and that Guests need to log in to reply to threads. This might not necessarily be a permanent arrangement. I've informed the Global Mods that they can re-ban ASV if he does slip through the net again. The Boundary Games board has also been deleted; there's nothing that was posted on there that can't be posted here. I had switched on its Maintenance Mode last night because he was getting on my nerves over there too. I wish ASV well on a personal level - perhaps he has plenty to offer in the future but it will have to be on someone else's forum I'm afraid.

I need to ask the forum to be more sparing when it comes to posting images, tweets and suchlike. Many of us have posted them, for various reasons, myself included. They are acceptable to a point, but they can take up a lot of space, particularly for those choosing to scroll through "Recent Posts", and mobile users. Just something to bear in mind. Another related issue that has cropped up lately is copyright infringement. Particular care should be taken when using images taken by private professional photographers - do seek their permission before re-posting their work. Any offending material needs to be drawn to the attention of myself and/or a Global Moderator so that it can be removed with reasonable swiftness.

The General cycling thread has been deleted in its entirety over moderation concerns. A new cycling thread may be created, however we should avoid discussing anything that could be construed as libellous or defamatory. Doing so will result in a 48 hour ban in the first instance.

Whilst I have continued the policy of accepting the vast majority of new members, I have been rejecting a small number who have tried for usernames like documents or certificate and are accessing from Cameroon whilst using email addresses based on German domains with interesting WHOIS details. I am mentioning this in the interests of transparency.
