I thought that this might be a bit of fun, so here are the election results for Cornwall's first county wide elections.

The first elections took place on 24 January 1889. There were 96 candidates for the 66 seats, with 36 candidates being unopposed. across the following divisions:-

Foster was a banker and Childs a magistrate's clerk according to the local press. No mention of their party affiliation in any report I can find.
