I think it's very likely. She comes from Bolton originally, but actually lives in Holmfirth now - she became an MP in 1974 so if it us her can't have been on Holmfirth council for long - probably only until it was dissolved?
Went to Bradford university, Holmfirth councillor (1972-4)

Yep ( hullenedge posted this on the 1972 thread), for Fulstone ward. It seems she ousted a Liberal councillor.

That's interesting. I used to work and quiz with Baroness Taylor's brother, and his surname is not Bowling.

The fact her first name is not actually Ann meant she placed below the BNP candidate on the ballot paper in the 1997 GE.
Which (re another recent discussion) might well have boosted the latter's vote.
