Can anyone please let me know how I could source election dates in individual Parliamentary seats prior to 1918? Thanks McCalmont's Parliamentary Poll Book contains the dates of poll, save for the general elections of 1892 and December 1910. The Times Digital Archive can also easily give you the dates to fill the gap.

They're fairly widely available if you know where to look - in the Return of Election Expenses, in the annual Return of Parliamentary Electors, and in most of the reference books containing election results.

Electorate figures for uncontested seats are in the Poll Book section of the Liberal Year Books some of which are here - archive.org/search.php?query=liberal%20year%20bookAlso, for Ireland, Walker's Parliamentary Election Results, which you can pick up cheap second hand.

Do Vachers and Dodds go way back pre-1918? Both date back to 1832.
