Warwick, Warwick, All Saints & Woodloes. Lab 648, Con 533, Green 458, LD 77 How different were the district ward boundaries - there seem to an additional 115 votes in the district by-election and no Green candidate, which led to Labour getting 313 more Con 154 more LD 106 more Which would certainly suggest that Labour were the main beneficiaries of no Green candidate.

There is a slight curiosity in Tonbridge & Malling, Aylesford, Eccles. The election was scheduled for 29 February but attracted no candidates. The T&M website states that as a result the vacancy can be filled by co-option, but I don't believe this is correct - parish byelections attracting too few candidates lead to further byelections.

In Wales, if ten letters asking for a by-election are not recieved then co-option is the next step, so having no candidates standing in a by-election leading to co-option makes a great deal of sense.

There is a vacancy on Taunton Town council ( the 1st since the council was formed last year) in Wellsprings and Rowbarton ward, caused by the resignation of Marcia Hill, LD.
She was a Taunton Deane and then Somerset West & Taunton District councillor from 1993-2023 and then a Taunton Town councillor since last May.
