Just one coming up on the 28th: Parkfield & Oxbridge ward on Stockton-On-Tees Unitary Authority. The vacancy was caused by a Labour resignation.
There are 4 candidates - Conservative, Labour, Liberal Democrat, and UKIP.

Parkfield & Oxbridge - Stockton-on-Tees UA - David Rose (Labour) resigned due to increased work commitments.
2015: Lab 1608/1501, Con 950/887, Ind 419, Grn 285, LD 192/179, Libertarian 58 2011: Lab 801/771, Stockton Independents Association 451/250, Con 444/345, Ind 255, LD 106/93 2007: Lab 820/749, Con 410/409, LD 278/276 2005: Lab 1316/1199, Con 652/556, LD 482/451
Stockton had a weird election schedule, due to the new ward boundaries not being ready for the 2003 all-outs, so they held an all-out election in 2003 on old boundaries, all-outs in 2005 on new boundaries and all-outs in 2007 to bring them in the normal cycle.
Peter Braney (UK Independence Party (UKIP)) Drew Durning (Liberal Democrats) Allan Mitchell (Labour Party) Stephen Richardson (Conservative Party Candidate)

That's the ward I was living in when I joined the party donkey's years ago.
No Asian independent candidate this time which can change things a bit.
Corbyn dropped in today too while visiting a nearby FE college.
Good solid result

For whom? Little swing between Conservative and Labour since both 2015 and 2011 whilst a small 2½% swing Labour to Conservative since way back 2007.

Compared with other results in similar areas recently, I think this counts as a decent performance for Labour.

Compared with other results in similar areas recently, I think this counts as a decent performance for Labour. A small swing since both 2011 and 2015 is enough to be going on with, and if Labour did better in 2007 it suggests demographics there are not exactly helping us. So yes, pretty good result.

Sure, at the moment that looks likely to be the case.
But 2012 was easily our best year in the last electoral cycle, so avoiding that soon after a traumatic GE defeat was always going to be problematic. We should certainly be aiming for significant advances on our 2013 and 2014 performances in the coming years, though.
