At least four women elected according to Saudi Press Agency. Other news agencies have put the number between nine and 17.
Women were elected in Mecca, Jawf and Tabuk.

Turnout was low, only about 25% of registered voters, which were already a small group - despite the allocation of some powers to local councils.

Only 1.48 million Saudis from a population of 20 million registered to vote - 131,000 of them were women. The usual "rumors" of talks about elections to the Shurah, but that needs to be seen before believed.
