Will Stella force a by-election if deselected?

Well, reports say than she has a terrible relationship with her constituency association and the council leader (which is on right wing too).

I don't know either way, but be careful of what 'reports' say.

There won't be any selections until the new boundaries come out, and it's unlikely Walthamstow will exist then.

There won't be any selections until the new boundaries come out, and it's unlikely Walthamstow will exist then. Are CLPs not allowed trigger or no confidence votes until that point? Another question. I'm assuming that if an MP resigns after redistricting has passed but before Parliament has prorogued, a by-election is held on the old boundaries.

No. It's expressly forbidden until the new boundaries are known.

Well, it takes time and effort to run a deselection campaign. So I wouldn't say they're wasting their energy, just that their actions are reducing their already small chances of success.

I suppose it's a sign that they are not yet very centralised as deselections should be done sparingly.

I doubt it'll ever be highly centralised, because a) there's nobody with both the inclination and the ability to co-ordinate that from the centre and b) those most likely to get involved in Momentum are least likely to follow orders from above. So you'll get a mishmash, with some local Momentums basically just soft-left talking shops and others essentially far-left fronts and with widely varying levels of local effectiveness.

Mods. Please close delete this thread as it is blatant trolling ridiculous. What's ridiculous, that she's facing an organised deselection threat noted in the national press or that deselected MPs have been urged to stand as independents? I doubt that either will come to pass in this case (particularly after EALs clarifications) but I was asking a question not trying to get emotive reactions.

There is already a thread for rumoured by-elections. It doesn't need its own thread until she actually resigns (which she won't).

It's a ridiculous thread about a possible de-selection in the future which won't necessarily lead to a by-election in an otherwise sensible and grown up political forum.

Given that the person advocating the deselection today is in another party , not the Labour party, and the group supposedly advocating deselection has expressedly said that the current campaign has no connection with them, I agree
